Happy New Year! Chasing is out now on Universal Music with Shaun Warner and remixes from Aussie production sensation Black Summer and Otosan LISTEN HERE
Had the privilege to meet this incredible human, Questlove on the weekend at a preview for the film Detroit; a confronting account of the Algiers Motel incident in 1967 from director Kathryn Bigelow.
So honoured to meet my idol, Mary J. Blige at an SCL preview of the film, Mudbound! She was humble, genuine and kind. For me, her voice has the rare ability to translate emotion into sound.
Mudbound is such a powerful film! Pay particular attention to the lyrics of the closing song, Mighty River with Mary J…so important right now!
Very excited that my new single CHASING with Irish born producer Shaun Warner, is set for release this December on Universal Music!
Shaun and I met in Miami at Winter Music Conference a couple of years ago and became instant besties. We’ve worked on a couple of tracks together including our #1 single, Promise Me, a while back. I am so excited for the release of CHASING with remixes from my Aussie fave, Black Summer and Otôsan!
So grateful to welcome in some cooler LA weather! I no longer have to be afraid to walk out of the house after 10am! That heatwave was relentless and I’m so grateful the fires weren’t more devastating.
I’ve caught some incredible music around LA of late particularly at the Hollywood Bowl, had some fantastic writing sessions and am planning an onslaught of new music over winter slash the Antipodean Summer! As much as I’ve just complained about the heat, I’ll be chasing the sun and heading over to Australia over the Summer months to enjoy Christmas by the beach and see the family.
Stay tuned for some exciting new music!
